Fans of spy movies rejoice everywhere as our very own Man of Steel is all set to appear in one. Henry Cavill is no stranger to espionage, having portrayed a super spy, Napoleon Solo, in Guy Ritchie’s Man From U.N.C.L.E. Covert operations, quick-cutting action sequences, and deceitful charm are a perfect fit for Cavill. The son of Krypton is sure to bring the same effortless allure in the Apple TV+ film Argylle.

The same magnetism made Henry Cavill one of the biggest contenders for James Bond. While rumors about him being ruled out as Agent 007 are rampant, Argylle is a sure thing. So we get to see Cavill as a dapper spy, regardless. Now, only one question remains about this spy-thriller: Is it based on a book?

Is the Henry Cavill film Argylle based on a novel?

Argylle, the story about the world’s greatest spy, is in fact, based on a book. Not just that, it is author Elly Conway’s first ever published novel. Surprisingly, the book, also titled Argylle, was released this year. That means work started on the film even before the book saw the light of day. There is much speculation that the manuscript of the unpublished spy narrative served as the source for the upcoming film.
