Who has the power to strip Prince Harry and Meghan Markle of their titles?
As published by The News, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were bestowed with the Duke and the Duchess’ title for a reason that holds true till time persists. Owing to his male bloodline, Harry ascended to the title of the Duke and it has been his ever since. Moreover, the letters of the patent only carry his name, and no one else’s. Hence, there is no chance of a family quarrel over the same either.

In such circumstances, King Charles, even after Coronation, will not be able to snatch away Prince Harry’s and Meghan’s remnants of power. However, the one authority above all is the UK parliament, which possesses the power to turn the tables at any moment. Although matters of the Royals and normal citizens have always been set aside, the Legislature still has its say on matters of property inheritance.
Hence, it is still under doubt whether the Sussexes will get to keep their titles or if they will have to wash their hands of them. Meanwhile, the couple is gearing up for the release of the Duke’s memoir, Spare, as well as their Netflix documentary, supposedly releasing next year.
