Most recently, a lot of rumors were circulating about the incredible British actor Idris Elba taking the mantle of 007. However, debunking all those theories, the Prometheus star recently opened up about his connection to the new project. Will this revelation push the former Superman any further toward this legendary role?

Idris Elba recently sat down with The Guardian to talk about his amazing journey into Hollywood. During the conversation, he was asked about the speculations that he would succeed Daniel Craig as 007. In his response, the Obsessed star stated that he admires people’s opinions but he has never been in any such discussion. He just shares a close bond with the producers and that’s why he visited them.

“I can’t speak for them, but from my perspective, there’s never been any sort of truth to any of it. It’s a compliment, and it’s an honor, but it’s not a truth,” explained Elba.

This news might disappoint many people, but the 50-year-old actor has other plans and will not be starring in the upcoming James Bond project.

Henry Cavill is a potential candidate for James Bond 

Henry Cavill will not be the Superman of the DC Universe anymore, but fans still hold their hopes that he might become the next James Bond. Last year, the British star was hitting second-favorite with odds of 3/1 told a report shared by Metro.

However, as for now, there is no confirmation of who might be playing 007 in the near future. The creators are looking for a candidate similar to Daniel Craig’s age.
