“I was so devastated” – Jenna Ortega Regrets Losing Her Role in ‘You’ Season 4 for Netflix Hit Series ‘Wednesday’
The creepy, kooky, and murderous reboot of the Addams Family has dominated the top 10 charts on Netflix. This updated teen version of the iconic gothic girl played by Jenna Ortega captured the viewers’ hearts. People loved watching the actress embody darkness inside out and have praised her performance several times. The comedy-drama became so popular that Netflix announced the renewal of the series. Where fans are immensely excited to see the young star in another season of Wednesday, Ortega feels remorse for losing the chance to appear in the latest season of You because of her commitment to the comedy-horror show.
Making an appearance at the 2023 SAG Awards on Sunday, Jenna Ortega spoke with ET’s Denny Directo. In the interview, she spoke about how much she missed playing Ellie in the thriller series You. “One of my favourite sets that I’ve ever ever been on I was so devastated when they reached out because I had one I-I miss Ellie and I had been wanting to go back to Ellie for such a long time,” explained the 20-year-old.

Unfortunately, the Scream actress couldn’t be a part of Season 4 of You because she was filming Wednesday in Romania. So she didn’t have the time to travel all the way long to shoot two shows at the same time. Even though she really wanted to appear in Sera Gamble’s show, she couldn’t find a way to do it.
But her dedication to the supernatural series turned out great for the American actor as she nabbed several nominations this year, including SAG-AFTRA for Female Actor in a Comedy Series. Meanwhile, Ortega is not the only one who missed Ellie in the latest season; the showrunner did too.

The showrunner of You, Sera Gamble recently talked to IndieWire about the overnight fame the Disney alum has gained with Tim Burton’s brilliant creation. During the conversation, she revealed that Ortega was meant to go to London this season. However, she was preoccupied with the Netflix project which became the biggest launch for the streamer in 2022.
The American writer seemed happy with the success this young girl has now and hopes that she will reprise her role as Ellie Alves in the show. According to her, they have ideas to bring her back on the screen in upcoming seasons. The X star herself has the same wish to reunite with her cast members, unless she gets too busy with her new projects and season 2 of Wednesday.
