What got Ryan Reynolds to start acting at 13?
In a candid conversation with 5 Questions with James and Jam, the actor talked about his roots. Reynolds has been widely applauded for making it big in Hollywood without having any connections. The actor who is currently gearing up for Deadpool 3 with his Truce mate Hugh Jackman, revealed how he stepped foot in the acting industry. And because this is Ryan Reynolds, his answer was nothing along the lines of being awestruck by theater and movies since a young age, but “I started performing just to get out of the house.”
Ryan Reynolds grew up in a small neighborhood with three elder brothers and a “scary” father, as Reynolds himself has said on countless occasions.

The actor further added that his entry into the acting world was “driven by spite.” The Deadpool actor went onto tell the tale of how when Hillside came to choose actors from their town, Reynolds was not chosen.

Therefore, the actor decided to go there by himself, “I said screw that! I am going to go down there and show them because the auditions were not pages, they were improv, and I already knew how to improv, that’s what I was doing all the time,” Reynolds told James and Jam. And to bring us back to the real reason, the Free Guy actor made sure to mention that “it was really just because I was so excited to leave.” While Ryan Reynolds may have done it out of spite, we are grateful that he stepped into the industry and given us brilliant movies.
