Why did Henry Cavill refuse to shave his mustache?

One of the biggest problems viewers have with Justice League is the extensive CGI. Adding the salt to the wounds is the fact that CGI isn’t even for the purpose of a killer fight sequence that would make you pump up your fist but it’s actually used as a terrible attempt to hide Henry Cavill’s mustache, which as evident by the controversies that Man of Steel actor was surrounded in later, was not such a good decision. While fans love Cavill in nearly anything, be it a tight Superman costume or his mustache, having literally half of his heavily edited is not ideal.

But given the commitment he had made to Mission Impossible- Fallout, the actor refused to shave his “King Stache”. However, the mustache did more than just make Cavill look like an incredibly handsome Duke out of a medical fairytale.

Additionally, Paramount Pictures even announced on Twitter that they were doing so, which encouraged more people to join in.

The story behind the organization goes all the way back to 2004 when in order to raise awareness of prostate cancer and men’s mental health a group of courageous Australian men refused to shave their mustaches for a month.

As obvious by the name of the organization ‘Movember’, the month that they didn’t shave their mustache was that of November. While Cavill may have had other reasons to not shave the mustache, he ended up making a bigger difference than he probably imagined. The actor over the years has had to speak of the ‘King Stache’ more times than he has movies as Superman.
