According to Koimoi, the showrunner Miguel Sapochnik is leaving House of the Dragon because the team is not casting his wife in the show. The director’s wife, Alexis Raben, played the role of Queen Alicent’s maid Talya in season 1. Not just that, the report says that he also wanted her to contribute as a producer for season 2. However, both of these proposals were declined due to Raben’s lack of experience

Moreover, the 48-year-old filmmaker released an official statement about his exit from the show. He wrote that this journey had been a great opportunity for him, and he was overjoyed by the audience’s response.

“It was incredibly tough to decide to move on, but I know that it is the right choice for me, personally and professionally,” explained the Emmy winner. He continued expressing his admiration for Alan Taylor, who will be joining the series in his place.
