However, there is still no confirmation from the new bosses’ side. But we know the American filmmaker wants to make a feature film based on Basil Karlo, whom we know as Clayface. However, with the upcoming sequel to The Batman, the question rises that are these two projects interconnected? Well, no. These two are entirely different stories.
Mike Flanagan once pitched the same story previously which went nowhere
This is not the first time that the 44-year-old filmmaker became excited about making a Clayface film. Reportedly, he had already had a meeting regarding the same with Warner Bros. which failed. He revealed he went to the studio to talk about his willingness to work on a horror-themed project. As a child, Christopher Reeve’s Superman was his hero.
While reminiscing about that, he also talked to Warner Bros. if they would like to create a darker take on the Justice League as well. He also had Scarecrow in his mind, if the studio wanted to go with something different. At the time, he also pitched the Clayface feature film. Alas, the meeting went nowhere, and they did not collaborate.
