Back in 2019, when Stranger Things had dropped its third season and Brown had already attained unprecedented fame, the young actress shared a hot take about the protagonist of Netflix’s You.
Considering how it is a fictional series, Netflix took things up a notch. While most identified the problems in the protagonist, some like a fifteen-year-old Millie Bobby Brown at that time could not.

When you step foot into the twisted world of Joe Goldberg in Netflix’s You, nothing seems out of the ordinary. That is until a woman catches his eye, and any semblance of morality leaves his body. This is why fans were left disappointed when Millie Bobby Brown justified his actions. “He’s not creepy, he’s in love with her and it’s okay...” Brown wrote on her Instagram story as reported by Teen Vogue.
Brown further wrote, “By the way, I know everybody is gonna say ‘Ahhh, he’s a stalker, why would you support that?!’ But like, he’s in love with her… just watch the show and don’t judge me on my opinion.”
The protagonist of the series starts by stalking and proceeds to gaslight, kidnap, and murder all the while quoting revered authors. Therefore, fans could not heed the Stranger Things actress’ demands and schooled her about how wrong she was.

How Brown disappointed her Enola Holmes character in 2019
The lack of awareness on Brown’s part disappointed fans when they saw the story. But it would have completely shattered Brown’s very own character Enola Holmes had she known of this ordeal. Brown first played the young detective in 2020, precisely a year before she justified Joe Goldberg’s psychopathic behavior.

While Brown did not hesitate in justifying Goldberg’s actions, fans of the actress cannot bring themselves to support her opinion. However, it is to be noted that she was only fifteen when she made those statements.
