After laying the framework for the new era at DC, Gunn recently took to Instagram to announce an upcoming DC animated series. The post received a good response from the fans as it garnered over 100,000 likes. Amidst the plethora of comments, one of the user’s comments stood out as Gunn took time to reply. The user wrote that he was excited about DC’s future. However, he was upset over the fact that the franchise let go of Cavill and Gal Gadot while keeping Ezra around. As per Koimoi, Gunn replied, “We didn’t let Gal go. Ezra’s movie is already made. Henry doesn’t fit what I have for Superman.”

Following Gunn’s statement, it seems like there is no hope for Cavill to return to the franchise. Not long ago, the new DC boss even revealed how there is no bad blood between him and the British actor. Meanwhile, The Suicide Squad director had a few more things to say about Gadot. When another user asked if there was any update on Gadot’s Wonder Woman, Gunn replied that they met the actress a few weeks ago.
Keeping in mind what Gunn had to say, there seems to be a bleak chance of Gadot reprising her role as Diana Prince. Meanwhile, even Ben Affleck will no longer continue as Batman. For now, the franchise will commence its new era with Shazam! Fury Of the Gods, which is all set to premiere worldwide in March.
