After years of begging Henry Cavill to be back as Superman in the DC universe, we were finally blessed with a small sequence in Black Adam. And right we were beginning to cheer at the return of Henry Cavill as Superman, it was brought to our attention that his cameo does not necessarily mean that his future in DC is confirmed. But thankfully, the actor himself decided to end our misery and posted on Instagram that he will be playing Superman in a new DC movie. With the return of Cavill as Superman fans are reminded of another actor whose return would add stars to the show.

Will Henry Cavill’s return be able to bring Ben Affleck back to DC?

The disastrous Justice League can very much be blamed for the years of the disappearance of Henry Cavill as Superman. But as for Ben Affleck, there is no obvious culprit. The actor opened up in an interview that he had to drop out because of his drinking problems. But years later, it was announced that Ben Affleck will be seen in The Flash and Aquaman 2. This again was not an easy announcement.

The actor also said that he was done with playing Batman after The Flash, however, he’s back at it. Furthermore, Affleck has only agreed to play Batman as a supporting character so far. And there is no news that the Gone Girl actor will be seen as Batman in a solo movie anytime soon.

But Cavill’s return to DC has gotten fans more excited than ever. For them, Henry Cavill playing Clark Kent again is very much a miracle. And given the awfully long hiatus, we have to agree that it wasn’t short of any.

This has led fans to believe that if Cavill can come back then so can Ben Affleck. DC has over the years fallen way back and it needs to bring back its original superheroes to get going again. A Ben Affleck comeback right after Cavill’s is a step in the right direction. While there is a huge fanbase siding with Robert Pattinson to put on the black costume, fans of DC really believe in Ben Affleck. And following James Gunn’s takeover as the co-CEO of DC, fans have their fingers crossed that they will get Ben Affleck back again.
