Henry Cavill has left The Witcher. The actor that rose to fame from his Superman character in Man of Steel took the tough call for the sequel of his DC movie. This has left a big question about how anyone else will be able to fill in his shoes for the Netflix Original series in its fourth season.
The Witcher series is based on the fantasy novels by author Andrzej Sapkowski. A game of the same was also produced, spreading its fan base wide. But what really sealed the deal for the story was Henry Cavill bringing the character to life. The actor has always been a very big fan of the games and, later, the books. So naturally, he once did something only a true fan would do.
What did Henry Cavill do in his obsession?
Henry Cavill has left everyone shocked by leaving Netflix show The Witcher. The shock is perhaps greater because of how attached the actor was to the series. In fact, he once confessed what he did with his Witcher costume, “I took it all home…It’s not so easy to put on. It took two hours of hair and makeup every day, so that’s just sitting at home looking cool.”
While he did not do this on a regular basis, producer Lauren Schmidt once agreed how the actor would roam around in his heavy costume doing casual things on the set.
Being a fan of The Witcher since before the series, Cavill wanted to stay true to the books as much as possible, even insisting that his clothes should look worn out. “He made breakfast in it, he would sleep in it,” Lauren added. Even though they informed him about not requiring to do so, the actor really took his role seriously and attached himself to it.
Australian actor Liam Hemsworth is said to be replacing Cavill as The Witcher. Although the news has not been received well my some fans of the show, the makers had a decision to make. Meanwhile, Henry will be busy on the shoots of Man of Steel 2 and is currently gearing up for the release of Enola Holmes 2.
