Henry Cavill Returning to DCEU With Black Adam Will Resolve a Major Justice League Blunder
Henry Cavill is one of the most renowned stars in the history of Hollywood. While most of his roles are memorable and iconic, topping them all is Clark Kent in the 2013 film Man Of Steel. Not only was the film Cavill’s start to his successful career, but Superman also became a sensation for all the superhero fans. Moreover, Man of Steel was a commercial success for DC. As of late, DC films have failed to impress the audience. Previously, Justice League, too, was not much of a hit for the DC extended universe franchise. But will Henry Cavill’s return help capitalize on the marketing opportunity Justice League failed to? Let us find out.
How did Justice League fail to build on the hype surrounding Superman’s resurrection?
Rumors of Henry Cavill appearing in San Diego comic con to announce his return as Man of Steel did not bear fruit. Even though Cavill did not feature in the event, the return of Superman is one of the most discussed topics recently. It has been a long time since the Enola Holmes actor starred as Superman. Although he was a part of the 2021 film Zack Snyder’s Justice League, the film was more or less recourse to the 2017 film Justice League. The fans were looking forward to the actor’s resurrection after his death in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Even though he did make a comeback in Justice League, Warner Bros. failed to build on the hype around the return of Superman.

Besides the fact that the resurrection of Superman was not emphasized enough, the movie had various other mistakes. One of them was the humiliation due to Superman’s mustache. While it was understandable that Warner Bros did not want to ruin the suspense of Cavill’s resurrection, the movie could have capitalized on Superman’s resurrection. Furthermore, the Zack Snyder version of Justice League celebrated Snyder’s intended version rather than emphasizing Cavill’s return.
How will Henry Cavill returning as Superman help DCEU?
Apart from Snyder’s Justice League, fans have not got a chance to see their favorite superhero in another significant role. More Superman films and appearances will bring back a bit of a forward path for DCEU. There is no denying the fact that Cavill was born to play Superman. The physical resemblance Cavill shares with the character and how he plays it is captivating. Cavill might feature in a cameo scene for the upcoming DCEU film Black Adams, per recent rumors. Starring Dwayne Johnson, Black Adams will release soon, on October 21.
