Henry Cavill Replaced, Now The Witcher Fetches A Rival To Joey Batey’s Jaskier For Future Seasons Of The Netflix Drama
The war of mages and wizards, of monsters and witchers, of the entire continent and Cavill’s Geralt- The final chapter- the very last of Henry Cavill on the Continent- is impending upon us in almost a month. Princess Cirilla certainly seems to be in grave danger as all the evils of Witcherverse aim to seize her power for their good. However, there is this one character who is there just to narrate the story, to sing the glories of that universe.
Yes! we are certainly talking about the fan-favorite bard, Jaskier. And even though he had no big troubles as such until now, reports suggest that Jaskier may have to meet with his greatest rival of all time- the poet and musician from Cidaris- Valdo Marx. Redanian Intelligence recently confirmed that Nathan Armakwei Laryea will be playing the rival bard and will perhaps appear in episode 3 or 4 of The Witcher season 3.

One must also note that they described his character as a “Monument”– suggesting that Laryea is here to play a truly significant role and stay for a longer time. Jaskier and Valdo Marx’s rivalry in The Witcher- Explained!
If you have a memory of an elixir, you must remember that Dandelion wished for the Traubadour’s death when he got hold of the Djinn Jar in the book. He apparently wanted apoplexy to be the reason for Marx’s death. According to the lore, Marx was a rival of Dandelion and regarded him as a “talentless wastrel who panders to the taste of the masses.” However, we do not know the exact reason for them such immense hatred toward each other, and only the upcoming season shall answer that.

An old audition video (which has now gone private) for the upcoming season also saw Prince Radovid of Redania flirting with Jaskier and asking him to be the troubadour of his kingdom, because if he did not, “we might have to listen to that reedy voice of Valdo Marx.” Now whether the scene will make it to season 3 or not remains to be seen. But, we The Witcher fans will certainly get some bard-off to see while Henry Cavill plays his beloved role for one last time.
