Henry Cavill as Clark Kent, a.k.a. Superman, is undoubtedly one of the screen’s most well-liked and popular superheroes. Despite Cavill starring in several different roles like Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher or Sherlock Holmes in Enola Holmes, fans have been waiting to see the British actor put on his Kryptonian suit again.

While it is unclear what movie we will get to see Cavill as Superman again, it seems like the Mission Impossible: Fallout actor has some plans for his on-screen character.

Henry Cavill and his ideas to redeem the Man of Steel

In 2013, Zack Snyder gave the world one of the best versions of Superman through the film Man of Steel. While the movie certainly gave a perfect segue to Superman and opened up various avenues, Snyder’s vision was cut short abruptly. Zack Snyder’s version of Justice League revealed Snyder’s plans to make Superman into something evil.

However, Cavill wanted to show Superman’s character as good before he went down the darker path. Later in an interview with GQ, Cavill revealed his plan for Superman to develop the best arc possible. The Stardust almnus said: “I was very keen on really fleshing out Superman’s early stages of his journey.”

The actor added that even if his version of Superman were to get influenced by the Anti-Life equation, he wanted fans first to witness the heroic side of the popular character. However, for Cavill’s vision to come to life, we would need a sequel, a.k.a. Justice League 2.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League was the first in the Justice League trilogy. The film established the worst possible scenario in the DC universe. Superman succumbed to the Anti-Life equation, and Darkseid conquered the world after Steppenwolf failed to do it for him. Although the Enola Holmes actor agreed that an evil Superman is undoubtedly exciting for the fans, he would prefer to explore the Kryptonian years as a hero. But will Cavill get his chance to redeem Superman in Justice League 2?

Justice League 2: Will Snyder get a sequel?

Initially, the groundwork was laid for a Justice League trilogy before Zack Snyder left. Currently, there are no updates about Justice League 2. Furthermore, due to the two different cuts of Justice League already being released, it is no wonder the plans for a sequel are not being rushed.

Currently, there are no updates on the release date. Moreover, even the filming has not commenced. For now, it seems like the fans will have to wait until we get an official announcement from Snyder or Warner Bros to know what the future holds for the DC extended universe.
