There are rare moments when even Hollywood bigwigs also get star-struck. Something similar happened when Will Smith met Portugal’s captain, Cristiano Ronaldo for the first time. 

Independence Day star is a fan of football and has been religiously following the sport for years. It is a surprise that Smith has not thought about owning a football team yet. He certainly has the bank balance to do it. But nevertheless, whether he follows the steps of Ryan Reynolds or not, it was a surprise to see him all fangirling over the Portuguese star.

Will Smith gushed about Cristiano Ronaldo’s impeccable taste

The Men in Black star had met the football star only once in his life and he could not stop talking about how much he loved meeting Cristiano Ronaldo. He praised him for his impeccable taste and style in how he conducted himself and interacted with other people during the World Cup 2018.

“Just seeing the things he does, and the way he interacts with people, he just has impeccable taste and style,” he said. It was evident that it was a memory that Will Smith cherished.

While both were having a splendid year in 2018, things are not looking well for the two in 2022. Smith was lambasted for his actions at the 2022 Oscars. He had slapped the host of the night, Chris Rock, for making fun of his wife’s alopecia. The event shocked the industry and as a result of which the actor was banned from the Academy for the next 10 years. However, the actor is making a comeback in Emancipation – a hard-hitting drama about slavery and freedom.

Cristiano Ronaldo, on the other hand, has terminated his contract with Manchester United with immediate effect. He played for the premier league from 2003 to 2009, before rejoining the club again in 2021. However, his second tenure was cut short due to several controversies. The goalscorer has, however, sent his best wishes to the club and its fans.
