Even if you haven’t watched 13 Reasons Why in all these years, you probably have heard of the hype and popularity it brought to Netflix in 2017. Based on the 2007 Jay Asher novel of the same name, this show managed to set a strong mark upon its release. The adaptation was so authentic that it started a constant debate on social media about the way it deals with sensitive topics like suicide and mental health. The series focused on the death of Liberty High student Hannah Baker and its aftermath. Although the later seasons ruined the charm that the first two seasons created, people still like to cherish those days of the beginning. As the show premiered on this day March 31 and instantly took a seat on the top list. In 2017, season 1 garnered a total of 476 million view hours within a month of its release, giving tough competition to flagship shows like Money Heist.
