Stranger Things made a splash with its fourth season last year. Apart from the big bad that was Vecna and the epic showdown between him and Eleven, fans could not stop talking about his vulnerable moment of Will. For years fans have speculated about Will’s sexuality, but the creators maintained the ambiguity of the character. Until Noah Schnapp confirmed he was gay last July. 

The revelation did not quite come as a shock, as fans had known it for years. And the moment repeated itself again this year when the actor himself came out as gay, not much to the fans’ surprise!

Surely, this was a big step for Noah Schnapp to come out of his closet just like Will, who finally confided in his brother, although indirectly. But while Will felt alone and misunderstood, Noah does not have to worry about it. Netizens are pouring in their support and churning out memes every minute in reaction to his coming out! 

The 20-year-old shared a video on TikTok to reveal how things went down at his place when he told his parents and friends! The overlay text read: “When I finally told my friends and family I was gay after being scared in the closet for 18 years and all they said was ‘we know’”. He captioned it, “I guess I’m more similar to Will than I thought.” 

The Duffer brothers had cast the perfect actor to reflect the inner turmoil of Will. The ability to connect with his character personally helped Noah give a nuanced performance that felt authentic.  After the obvious hints that the Duffers dropped in the fourth installment, Will will come out gay in the final season. He had harbored feelings towards his best friend Mike secretly for years. But it seems Mike had known that Will was gay. In earlier seasons, irritated, he had once snapped at him for not liking girls.
