Prince William and Kate Middleton tried to make a statement following Prince Harry’s memoir release by visiting Liverpool. In their first outing after the bombshell book to inaugurate the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, the Prince and Princess of Wales gave out happy vibes. However, the quick tour became famous for all the wrong reasons. The absence of the £400,000 engagement ring from Middleton’s finger gave birth to a lot of controversies and speculations.

While popping the big question back in 2010, Prince William presented his lady love with his late mother Princess Diana’s 12-carat oval sapphire ring. The sentimental jewelry holds a lot of value for the Wales couple and thus there are hardly any times when the Princess is spotted without it. The royal fans were quick to link the ring’s absence with the news of Prince William’s extra-marital affair floating in the media. Is there trouble in paradise?

Why did Kate Middleton remove her engagement ring? 

Last month, there were strong rumors about the Prince of Wales’ affair with Rose Hanbury. The model and the future king share a good camaraderie with each other, as they are a part of the same social circle. Though there has been no reaction from the Palace, Prince William’s solo visit to his ex-girlfriend’s wedding in December added fuel to the fire. However, contrary to the speculations, there is no connection between Prince William’s alleged affair and Kate Middleton removing her engagement ring.

The Princess of Wales let go of her precious jewelry for a short period during the tour because of safety and health reasons. It was not recommended for the future queen consort to wear the ring inside the hospital. Meanwhile, along with her engagement ring, Middleton also removed her 18-carat white gold eternity ring. 

Prince William and Kate Middleton’s trip to Liverpool was a success as they interacted with the staff and also obliged the fans with selfies. Meanwhile, the couple maintained a dignified silence over the questions regarding Prince Harry’s bombshell book. 

During the trip, one of the reporters fired the question as mentioned by Express, “Do you ever plan to comment on Harry’s book, sir?” The Prince and Princess of Wales ignored the reporter as they continued with their official duties.
