Penn Badgley has been working in the industry for years. And despite being a crucial part of the golden series Gossip Girls, Badgley is now synonymous with Netflix’s You. The actor gave arguably the best work of his decades-long career in You and gripped fans enough to say the six magic words: He was meant for this role. However, the actor’s career could have gone down a completely different trajectory.

Acclaim came to Badgley only when the first season of You hit the OTT Mughal. But Pen Badgley, while playing with sweet puppies, dropped a truth bomb about a mainstream role that he was almost cast in, and fans cannot stop thinking about what could have happened.

Many remarked after seeing the powerhouse of talent that Badgley proved to be in You, that he was the hidden gem of Hollywood. What if we tell you that this gem was a nail’s length from being discovered through the hit series Breaking Bad? Before you gasp in disbelief, the actor made this confession when he was surrounded by a bunch of puppies, making the hit a little easier to take. Badgley revealed in an interview with BuzzFeed that he was almost cast as Jesse Pinkman.

That was the one that got away,” You star said. Looks like the actor has a knack for falling in love with scripts that fondle his bad-boy attitude.

Would Badgley have been better in Breaking Bad?

Someone will reject right away the question in the midst of the Jesse Pinkman and Walter Super Bowl commercial, rendering everybody nostalgic. But apart from that, Badgley has nailed a cathartic performance with nuance in You and he would have done the same had he been cast in Breaking Bad.
