Fans and celebrities alike have admired the musical talent of Kanye West. The ‘Donda’ singer has certainly lost on a few allies since his controversial statements. But the younger Ye loved collaborating and sharing his talents with fellow rappers. Singer Pharrell Williams was also one of these rappers. He was one of the few people in the industry who admired the earliest works of West and predicated his rise. One particular song even left him speechless after knowing the story behind it.
Hip Hop Hall of Fame posted a throwback video of the two artists hearing the song, ‘Through the Wire’, together. The lyrics of the song go, “Through the fire, to the limit, to the wall, for a chance to be with you.” In the short video, Williams could be seen grooving and vibing to the song along with Ye as he carefully listened to the lyrics and beat. He apparently walked out of the room for a few minutes after being moved by the song and story behind it.

Ye wrote the song after his car crash in 2022. He had a near-fatal accident that landed him in a hospital. But despite people’s advice to rest, the singer continued to work on his song. His mouth was sewn shut during the recovery period, which led him to name the song ‘Through the Wire’.
As the video resurfaced on the internet, fans could not help but admire the bond between the two singers.

Kanye West released ‘The College Dropout’ album back in 2004. The album became a major success, but what added to it was also the journey that Ye went through while writing the songs. One fan pointed out Williams’ reaction to the song.

Another one had a bittersweet thought of how the song was made by the same person who wrote ‘Jumping Out of The Window.’
I couldn't and still can't understand how the same Kanye who made this dope song would a couple of albums later talk about how it would be a beautiful death jumping out the window

The album won the 2005 Grammy’s Award for Best Rap Album while also being nominated for the Album of The Year Award. As for ‘Through the Wire’, it was inspired by Chaka Khan’s 1985 song ‘Through the Fire’ and was twisted to match Ye’s situation.
