Netflix is desperate to keep its talent in the house. At least that’s what it looks like. Millie Bobby Brown is tied with more Netflix projects than you can imagine. The actress just wrapped up Stranger Things season 4 and is gearing up for the release of Enola Holmes 2, but she still has more coming. Her next might be a thriller where she plays a sapphic con artist. Netflix reportedly signed her on for the Girls I’ve Been back in 2020. Ozark’s Jason Bateman is also involved with the project. What is the Girls I’ve Been about? 

Considered an exhilarating thriller, the movie tells the story of a bisexual teenage girl Nora O’ Molley. Growing up under the wing of her con artist mother, who mostly targeted criminal men, Nora picked up some exceptional skills of manipulation and persuasion from her mother. Little did she know that these skills would come in handy when she had to get her girlfriend and ex-boyfriend out of a dangerous situation in a bank! 

As of now, only Millie Bobby Brown is the sole cast member. She is producing the flick through her production house, PCMA. As per the last report, Bateman is also onboard as executive producer through Aggregate Films.

When will the film arrive on Netflix?

Netflix adaptation of Tessa Sharpe’s novel Girls I’ve Been was announced in 2020 at the height of the pandemic. It’s probably still in production because we haven’t gotten any updates yet. Since Millie Bobby Brown was too busy filming Stranger Things and Enola Holmes 2, the project probably got delayed. Also, the pandemic posed a lot of problems as well.

Until further updates regarding the project arrive, you can still get your hands on the copy of Tessa Sharpe’s novel. And who knows, we might get Brown’s fantasy movie before this!
