“Everybody’s so sensitive” – When 18-Year-Old Billie Eilish Defended Her Friendship With Drake
Billie Eilish is an absolute fan-favorite right from the beginning of her singing career. The American singer-songwriter has some of the best hits to her name, including Don’t Smile at Me, Bad Guy, and Happier Than Ever. However, sometimes all the fame and popularity backfire as people start picking up on every word and action.
There was a time when the Oscar-winning singer put the Canadian rapper Drake in trouble due to one of her interviews. The friendship between the two artists did not go well with a lot of people all across the globe and they slammed Drake for being in touch with the young girl. However, the highlight of the entire fiasco was Billie Eilish taking the initiative of clearing the air and backing her dear friend.

Billie Eilish slams the trolls
It was in March 2020 that Billie Elish shut all the critics who were slamming her friendship with Drake. The singer called the internet sensitive while advising people to be a little chill on social media. “The internet is such a stupid-ass mess right now. Everybody’s so sensitive. A grown man can’t be a fan of an artist? Like, you’re really going to say that Drake is creepy because he’s a fan of mine,” Eilish told Vogue.
The criticism and trolling for Drake kick-started in November 2019 when Billie Eilish made a revelation about texting Drake. The pop singer was once asked to name some of the most famous people on her mobile phone. Answering this, the seven-time Grammy winner mentioned the likes of Ty Dolla Sign, Teyana Taylor, Hailey Bieber, Ariana Grande, Kid Cudi, Justin Bieber, Young Thug, and Avril Lavigne.

Meanwhile, she also highlighted how Drake was the nicest person she has ever talked to. While Billie Eilish could not stop singing praises for the rapper, the fans were reminded of Millie Bobby Brown’s confession of being in touch with Drake. In 2019, Millie also revealed that Drake constantly messaged her about missing her.
The two back-to-back confessions had not gone well with the people. They slammed the Canadian star for being a creep. What went against Drake was that both Brown and Eilish were just 14 and 18 years old at that time.
