“Elon Musk doesn’t come to me for advice”: ‘The Sandman’ Creator Neil Gaiman Hits Back at Tesla Owner, Here’s Why

Of the many accolades awarded to Neil Gaiman for his legendary writing, perhaps one should also be presented to his hilarious Twitter account. From tirelessly promoting The Sandman to geeking out with the fans; every sentence crafted by the bestselling author is a masterpiece in the Twitterverse. The true gems, though, come out when Gaiman shuts down trolls or defends his position. This time, tech Moghul, Elon Musk seems to be at the receiving end of Gaiman’s brutally honest and witty statements.

As a writer, Neil Gaiman truly understands the power of words. Regardless of the trolling that comes his way, he responds by simply laying out the facts without being aggressive or offensive. He rarely even resorts to using swear words. As Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory once said, ” You know, it turns out, you can hurt people just as well without ’em.” That is the exact strategy Gaiman employed to express his disagreement with Tesla’s CEO, Elon Musk. Let’s see what happened.

Neil Gaiman has a savage comeback for Elon Musk

Jumping on the fantasy bandwagon after House of the Dragon and The Sandman, Amazon also premiered its own show, The Rings of Power, a prequel to J. R. R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings. Typical of any massive release that already has an established fanbase, The Rings of Power has the audience divided. Neil Gaiman and Elon Musk stand on opposite sides of this battle.

Recently, Elon Musk took to Twitter and explicitly expressed his utter distaste for the fantastical prequel. He even posted a statement saying, “Tolkien is turning in his grave.

Neil Gaiman, on the other hand, had nothing but good things to say about the show. A Twitter user @Doggie777Moon tagged The Sandman author on Musk’s tweet and asked for his opinion. In his signature style and all too familiar savagery, Gaiman referenced Elon Musk’s attempt to buy Twitter. The SpaceX chairman had made an offer to buy the social media platform for $44 Billion but annulled his decision later, which resulted in a lawsuit.

Supporters of Elon Musk even tried to troll Gaiman but mistook him to have an involvement with the Lord of the Rings adaptation. Neil Gaiman even got the last word when he tweeted, “Do I tell them that, no, I was asked for my opinion and answered, or warn them that if they think that’s bad it’s a good thing they haven’t watched Sandman.”
