Does Mind Flayer of ‘The Mandalorian’ Have Some Connection to ‘Stranger Things’?
Fans were first introduced to the mysterious entity made up of silver-black particles named Mind Flayer in Stranger Things Season 2. It is considered one of the most dangerous villains in the show as it harbored significant powers like terrorizing people through the hive mind, and could command the demogorgons. William Byers became the first person to take notice of this gigantic creature in Upside Down. The entity wreaked havoc on the characters of this massively hit series for the last three seasons. However, it looks like this evil has found a new home this season in the famous show The Mandalorian.
At the beginning of this month, the space western series The Mandalorian returned to the fans with bigger and more raucous moments. One of those things that left people astounded in episode three of season three was the mention of Mind Flayer. Fans saw Dr Pershing strapped to the device designed to refresh and soothe the minds of people. The doctor recognized it as Mind Flayer meant to pull information from minds and could also be used for torture.

However, the Mon Calamari doctor convinced him that it was not the same machine and that it was just an electro-shock therapy to wipe his memories. So the connection between both these shows is the concept that the tabletop game Dungeons & Dragons introduced to the world. In those games, the creators possessed psychic abilities that could overpower the minds of human beings.
You might have seen in the Netflix show how this brain-devouring entity controls Billy’s mind, praying on his toxic memories. Likewise, the Disney show presents Mind Flayer in the form of a machine that can drive people mad and manipulate their minds.

Viewers might have seen the machine Mind Flayer in the latest episode of The Mandalorian. But its existence traces back to the very beginning of this show when the character first hinted at this torture device. Fans who have watched the last two seasons might already know Cara Dune talked about it in the final episode of season 1.
In that scene, she claimed that if she surrendered to the Empire, her brain would be uploaded to Mind Flayer. However, Greef Karga told her that these were just stories made up by them to install fear in people. It appears that Dune was right about the device, confirmed the new season.
