Kanye West might be an extremely disputed person, but one thing is for sure: he is a talented musician. The 45-year-old rapper has been through a lot in the past year when he became the subject of many controversies. So much so that his partnership with many brands worth millions got canceled. However, 2022 was not the only year when the rapper’s controversies caused him harm.

Apparently, in 2009, West planned a full-fledged music tour with Academy Award-winning singer Lady Gaga. Both of them were on their way to the immense fame that they own today; hence, the tour made sense. It was named Fame Kills: Starring Kanye West and Lady Gaga and was all over the news back then. However, as per Music Times, the tour got canceled even after detailed planning, and the reason was Taylor Swift.

The reason behind the tour’s cancellation was the 2009 MTV Awards, where Ye interrupted the ‘You Belong with Me’ singer in between her acceptance speech. The then 19-year-old singer won the award for Best Female Video, and he was not okay with that.

As he got on the stage to interrupt her, he had no idea that not only was he going to be part of the biggest controversies that year but that he was also digging a hole for himself by getting that tour with Gaga canceled.

The 37-year-old singer and Ye were planning to do this tour to promote their respective EPs, ‘The Fame Monster’ EP and ‘808s & Heartbreak’ respectively. Both of them were extremely excited about this tour, and the ‘Bloody Mary’ singer even called it “most groundbreaking moments in touring history.”

Before agreeing to join West on tour, Gaga had a condition for the musician before he began planning. Since she belongs to the queer community, the artist intended for her homosexual followers to be able to attend the gigs.
