Henry Cavill will no more be seen as the white-haired medieval monster butcher and the news is painful to digest, to say the least. The Witcher is coming up with its third season and it will be the last time that the fans will see their beloved Cavill as Geralt of Rivia. The Netflix fantasy show has roped in Liam Hemsworth as the replacement for the Enola Holmes actor.

A lot is being said about the potential reason behind Cavill parting ways with The Witcher. Many fans have speculated the 39-year-old’s comeback in the DC Extended Universe as Superman as the reason behind his exit from the Netflix show. There are also strong rumors about the actor having creative differences from the producers and the director. Meanwhile, his interview from last month is going viral on social media. It is believed that in the segment that aired before the major announcement, Henry Cavill subtly hinted at his exit.

Henry Cavill was not happy with his role

Speaking to Josh Horowitz, Henry Cavill discussed his work ethic and mindset about different projects. The Man of Steel actor reckoned that it is important to have a belief in the work you are doing as an actor

“If you believe what you’re doing is the right thing then you’ll be able to keep on doing it. It’s also important to know that if you realize you’re doing the wrong thing, that’s when you stop doing the wrong thing. You don’t just keep going just because that leads down a dark path,” Cavill said in the YouTube video.

The Witcher fans are linking this statement by Cavill to the rumors of him having creative differences with the team. It is believed that the 39-year-old was not happy with how the show was progressing. He was not seeing eye-to-eye with the producer regarding the future development of his character Geralt of Rivia.

Meanwhile, it is also speculated that Henry Cavill was planning to bid adieu to the show following the second season. The actor felt that the Geralt of Rivia was drifting away from what was written in the books.
