This is no secret that Queen Consort Camilla was the reason behind King Charles’ divorce from the late Princess Diana. In her explosive BBC interview in 1995, the former Princess of Wales made a shocking claim about her marriage being too crowded because of the presence of three people in it. Therefore, it should not be a surprise that there has been animosity between the current Queen Consort and the royal brothers, Prince Harry and Prince William. 

Prince Harry touched upon the sensitive topic in his memoir Spare. The Duke candidly spoke about the whole scandal and how it took a lot of time and courage to accept the presence of Camilla Parker Bowles in his father’s life. The monarch married his love in April 2005 after an affair that spanned over decades. However, he did not have his children’s consent, as they harbored bitter feelings toward his wife. Prince Harry was concerned about having a stepmother

In his book, Prince Harry narrated how he and his brother were against King Charles’ marriage to the woman with whom he cheated on their mother. Though the princes expressed their disapproval, they did not have much say, as their father was adamant about his decision. Despite the disagreement, the Duke and Prince William wished well for their father. They understood the king’s point of view as he was finally going to marry the woman he always loved. 

“Despite Willy and me urging him not to, Pa was going ahead. We pumped his hand and wished him well. No hard feelings,” the Sussex royal mentioned in the book as per the excerpts obtained by Page Six. 

Further, Prince Harry reflected on his own reservations with the Queen Consort. Before the royal wedding, the younger prince was troubled by the fact that he would have a stepmother in his life. He also wondered “if she would be like all the evil stepmothers in the stories.” Meanwhile, many royal experts have often claimed that the Sussex royal could never share a cordial relationship with Camilla Parker Bowles.
