What started off as a series about two grieving ladies turned out to be one of the best additions to the already brilliant genre of black comedy.  Dead to Me struck a chord with its viewers when it was released in 2019 and was renewed for another season. However, Season 3 of the Christina Applegate Netflix series will be its last season and fans cannot wait to see what more is waiting for Jen Harding and July Hade, the leading ladies of the drama.

While there is no secret that the series is brilliant, no one resonates with it as much as renowned actress Christina Applegate. The series brought her a Primetime Emmy Award and also a diagnosis that would change her life.

Jen Harding played by Christina Applegate and Judy Hale played by Linda Cardellini find themselves becoming the best of friends at the worst of times. On one hand, Jen is shattered after the sudden loss of her husband after he dies in a car accident. However, it isn’t just any car accident but a hit-and-run case the truth of which Jen desperately tries to discover.

And on the other, Judy is grieving the loss of her fiance who died of a heart attack. While that later proves to be false, the two of them have already found solace in one another. Apart from the obviously dark humor, the series also poses a sense of mystery.

We follow Jen as she tries to find out who ran over her husband. Furthermore, the announcement to renew the third season was made in July of 2020 but was postponed to the pandemic until mid-2021. But when shooting resumed in July 2021, Christina Applegate who had been finding herself off balance received a diagnosis.

What happened to the Dead to Me actress?

The actress was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Additionally, Multiple Sclerosis is an autoimmune disease that makes it harder for the body to interpret signals from the brain. And Applegate had been brushing off the signs for a while now. However, the actress came back to finish off the third and final season of the series.

Therefore the third season is not just pivotal because of how many deaths Jen and Judy have wrapped themselves in but it also may be a very long time before we see Christan Applegate in a Netflix series.
