Markle had raised her voice for the implementation of paid leave for women. As a working woman and a young parent in 2021, she saw a great opportunity for doing so. Another reason was that the senators were passing some specific bills in the parliament at that time.

The Duchess addressed it to the then-house speaker, Nancy Pelosi. Throwing light on how difficult it is for young parents, precisely young mothers, to handle the first critical months with their babies, she called for a ‘<a href="https://paidleaveforall.org/theduchessofsussex/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Paid Leave For All</a>’ bill to be passed in the parliament.
