Sci-Fi movies have been a part of cinema ever since the inception of the art of storytelling. But all the scientific fantasy films had one thing in common they were all far-fetched from the truth. Just one glance at them, and a person would know that it isn’t possible in the real world. However, that’s what separates Spiderhead by Netflix from all the other Sci-Fi films ever made.

The concept and setting of the film are so realistic that one can easily perceive it to be true. And now, the director of the film Joseph Kosinski has himself said that the film is not science fiction at all.

Is Spiderhead by Netflix a true story?

The year 2022 has been a great one for viers. We got some of the biggest films this year, like Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and The Adam Project, among others. But there was no film until now that had the mystery and thrill like Netflix’s Spiderhead.

On its surface, the film is about a cutting-edge jail overseen by Chris Hemsworth’s Steve Abnesti. Inmates in Spiderhead have the pleasure of freely roaming the halls, indulging in good meals and other luxuries, but they must consent to engage in Abnesti’s experiments in exchange.

While the plot of the film may look unreal, the director of the movie Joseph Kosinski doesn’t think so.

In a recent interview, while talking about the film, Joseph stated that he doesn’t feel the movie is fiction. In fact, he felt that “everything in this film could be happening today.”

The director then added that he also thinks that all the experiments in the film can happen soon in real life.

Spiderhead is actually doing quite well since its release on Netflix. The standout of the film is Chris Hemsworth, who is amazing as Steve.
