Bad Bunny began this year with a bang. He scooped up a Grammy for the Best Musica Urbana Album and then was linked to Kendall Jenner. Although the relationship isn’t confirmed yet, it seemed like nothing could go wrong in the rapper’s life. However, exes can always come in and mess up one’s perfect life without any prior notice. Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, is currently facing the wrath of his ex, Carliz De La Cruz Hernández. His ex-lover has sued the musician for a whopping $40 million

According to AP, Carliz has filed a suit against her ex in a Puerto Rican Court, charging him for non-consensual use of her voice in his music. The Puerto Rican musician had used Carliz’s voice recording in two of his tracks, namely 2016’s ‘Pa Ti’ and 2022’s ‘Dos Mil 16’. In both tracks, one can hear Carliz say, Bad Bunny, baby in a breathy voice. Benito has used her voice without her permission several times for promotions and concerts.

The two dated for 6 years and went to the same college. They recorded the verse in a friend’s bathroom in 2015. According to Noticel, After they broke up, she was offered $2000 dollars for her voice note in 2022, but she declined. Yet again, Rimas Entertainment reached out to her with another offer before the release of the album, ‘Un Verano Sin Ti’. However, De La Cruz declined every time because she wanted a contract in writing.
