Arnold Schwarzenegger would have probably made the fittest president in the history of America. He is undoubtedly one of the most likable personalities in the entertainment industry. The actor has added several titles to his name by winning over seven Mr. Olympia titles over the years, while also making a name for himself in Hollywood, and acting in several big projects like Predator, Commando, and of course his biggest hit, the Terminator franchise.

Despite the heavy European accent, he blended very well in his new life, thanks to his friendly yet fierce personality. In fact, he was once one of the highest-paid actors in the world. He had already won the world of muscle building and being the ideal action hero. But his passion ultimately led him to the field of politics. But why has this well-liked gentleman not stood for election yet?

Arnold Schwarzenegger may not seem like a typical politician, but he surprised everyone. The Former governor of California is well-liked by people of all political spectrums around the world. His charismatic personality and mass following made him a good candidate for the presidential election. Arnold, himself, seemed interested in beginning his campaign, but could not do so. The reason for this was his being born outside America.

As per the eligibility criteria, you have to be born in the country to contest, but Schwarzenegger is Austrian-American. “If I’d been born in America, I would’ve run. Because now? This was a very good time to get in the race,” said the former governor. The actor actually took part in a recall election in 2003 and came out as an elected governor of California. He even won the re-election and held on to his position till 2011. He remains loyal to the Republican party through which he became the governor.
