But if there was one constant entertainer in the show, it’s Queen Charlotte, who played a huge role in arranging the potential partner for Bridgerton siblings. She may have a lot of peculiar habits, but she still is a firm believer in love. Perhaps, that’s why this oddball of a character captured fan hearts since season 1. This love for the character eventually resulted in Shonda Rhimes, creator of Bridgerton, to announce a spin-off that tells Queen Charlotte’s story. And now, we months later, we finally have a face for the young version of the Queen.

When will Bridgerton spin-off about Queen Charlotte release?

We all know Queen Charlotte in Bridgerton for her love for Pomeranians and Lady Whistledown’s gossip sheet. She soon became a fan-favorite for her peculiar characteristics. So, on May 14th, 2022, Netflix officially announced that Queen Charlotte will get a series of her own, which will tell the story of a young Violet Bridgerton, mother of Bridgerton siblings, and young Lady Danbury.

In a conversation with Deadline, Netflix head of global TV Bela Bajaria said, “Many viewers had never known the story of Queen Charlotte before Bridgerton brought her to the world, and I’m thrilled this new series will further expand her story and the world of Bridgerton”.

But we can assure you that the spinoff will take a lot of time to complete its production and filming. There is no title, no release date, just the news that India Amarteifio landed the leading role of the show.

The plot of the show will explore how a young Queen Charlotte, played by India will take over her kingdom’s responsibility alone. The show will even explore the love story between Queen Charlotte and King George III. India will be joined by Corey Mylchreest as King George III.

We expect this to be India’s breaking role, after her supporting roles in shows including Sex Education, Doctor Who, Line of Duty, and Unforgotten. She is also carrying an immense responsibility, as she is following in the footsteps of the magnificent Golda Rosheuvel.
