Marvel has scheduled the mega movie Avengers: Secret Wars for a release in 2026 and Ben Affleck could be a part of it. The actor took a break from the screens to enjoy his new life with Lopez but is set to be back now. While Marvel has not officially announced the cast list, the news is making rounds about him playing the masked vigilante Daredevil.

The actor previously played Matt Murdock in the 2003 movie Daredevil alongside Jennifer Garner. Now, a decade later, he is likely to be wearing the costume and swinging his cane against the bad guys of the Marvel world again.

How the role would be positioned in Avengers: Secret Wars

The world knows Ben Affleck for playing DC’s Batman more than anything. But his Marvel character could perhaps return for its moment of glory in Avengers: Secret Wars. As per GiantFreakinRobot, the actor would likely play a cameo role in the movie, instead of one of the main characters. Considering the long list of fans who loved Avenger characters, that would come as no surprise.

Currently, it is English actor Charlie Cox who has been playing Daredevil for Marvel. He was cast in Spiderman: No Way Home, Daredevil series, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, etc. But perhaps Affleck’s return could be a reminder of the 2000s era. The 2026 movie could be a mixture of old and new actors, including Chris Evans, Michael B. Jordan, Kirsten Dunst, Tobey Maguire, and Nicolas Cage. They could also be joined by a cast of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. along with other major characters from the Marvel Universe in all these years.

While Daredevil is just one character in the large universe, his background story and conditioning are what make him special.

A look into the Ben Affleck character

Ben Affleck first appeared as Daredevil in the 2003 movie of the same name. He then reprised his role by playing a supporting character in Elektra in 2006.

Daredevil has a normal job during the day, as an attorney who is blind. But by night, he is a superhero fighting for justice with his stick and echolocation abilities. There is no confirmation of how Ben Affleck’s Daredevil would be squeezed into the 2026 movie. The project’s progress will be updated with time.
