It all began when David Letterman brought up the topic and said how Deadpool “is self-referential and snarky. And it’s breaking the fourth wall.” He said how it satisfies the criteria of why such movies are successful. He even called the movie a Golden Corral, but Ryan quickly pointed out they were two steps away from it and we’re actually entering a Denny’s.

The host also asked if it is in fact Ryan in the suit, or if it is someone else. “It’s me. Unless someone’s doing, you know, a triple-backflip in pike position off of a building, it’s me.” However, Ryan revealed he sat in the room with a microphone to re-voice jokes or moments or things that had cultural relevance 6 months later.
Ryan revealed he was mostly proud of what he did with Deadpool. “It was a time in my life when I wanted more authorship of my destiny,” The Adam Project actor said. He said that before that he was like a lunch-pail actor. But it was also scary for him because if the entire thing failed, it was on him as well. Hence, he called it a “double-edged sword”.
Well, it all ended up pretty great for Ryan, as Deadpool movies are undoubtedly our favorites. Tell us which Ryan Reynolds movie you love the most in the comments below.
