‘Barbie’ Director, Greta Gerwig, Opens Up About the Film Being Her ‘Career-Ending’ Starring Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie

This Little Women (2019) director talked to Dua Lipa on her recent podcast named At Your Service. While talking about her career, Gerwig talked about her feelings for her upcoming film, Barbie.

Barbie director felt terrible about the film starring Ryan Gosling
As it is for everyone, in the beginning, Gerwig felt extremely nervous about the film starring Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie in it. While sharing, the 39-year-old director revealed at first, it seemed doable, but then as she started the process, she didn’t understand where to begin.

She was confused and lost about the basic storyline as well. But according to her, that’s where the great stuff lies. When you’re uncertain about something and terrified of it, you find something best there. “Anything where you’re like, ‘This could be a career-ender,’ then you’re like, ‘OK, I probably should do it,'” added her.
She also talked about their amazing partner, the Barbie doll manufacturer named Mattel. Gerwig admired how they didn’t micromanage anything and trusted her blindly. They gave her total freedom, which she found extremely rare. However, there aren’t many details about the script.

Ryan Gosling once opened up about it and said it was the best script he’d read. While keeping the details secret, he described his character as a ‘loser’ with no money, job, house, or car.
