“Arrogance of age…”- Hugh Jackman, 54 Reveals One Major Reasons He’s Gonna Be the Perfect Wolverine for Ryan Reynolds’ ‘Deadpool 3’
Hugh Jackman surprised everyone including Ryan Reynolds when he returned for the role of Wolverine. The actor teamed up with the Deadpool star in an announcement for the 2024 Marvel movie Deadpool 3. The character first appeared in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, as Merc-without-a-mouth. Though this return as Logan could mostly likely be Hugh’s last one.
The actor first played Wolverine in the year 2000 in the movie X-men. Thereon he remained the sole actor to play this role, holding the record for the longest actor playing as a live-action Marvel Superhero. But the last Logan movie basically sealed off any chances of him returning. That changed all when he was finally convinced by Ryan to bulk up again for his role.

Hugh Jackman on his similarity with Wolverine along with Ryan Reynolds for Deadpool 3
Hugh Jackman has a lot of work ahead, bulking up to give full justice to his role as Logan. Despite being 54, he talks about how he feels similar to his character at this stage of life. In an interview with GQ magazine, he explains exactly how. “A little part of me now thinks I’d be better at it. Is that arrogance of age or something?”
He also mentioned getting comfortable in his own skin as he ages, a quality that Wolverine possesses. Especially since the character has a rather dark and grim backstory, one of which was having killed his own wife accidentally. The production for Deadpool 3 is set to begin early next year, giving the actor some time to get trained in a Superhero worthy physique.

But he seems to have wasted no time as training for the role is already underway. With a boost of protein already showing effect. “The other night, I could hear the Velcro go creaking and actually pop open”, he said. The double thrill of Deadpool 3 with these actors will likely only add to the movie franchise’s multi-million dollar box office earnings. Meanwhile, he will probably join Ryan Reynold’s enthusiasm for giving their project timely updates to their fans.
