Amidst ‘The Color Purple’ and ‘Maestro’, Steven Spielberg Set to Bring a Special Docuseries to Netflix This October
Steven Spielberg is one of the best-known names in the film industry. With a career that ranges from sci-fi adventures to some of the best historical classic dramas, he surprised and shocked fans when he decided to sign with Netflix, beginning his new chapter in 2021. He went on to surprise fans even further when it was announced that he was producing Bradley Cooper’s upcoming Netflix film, Maestro.
But his most recent endeavor is a little bit of a shift from his usual path, but from what fans have seen already, there is no doubt that it will live up to expectations. Given the experience the director already has with the Jurassic Park franchise, this should be a walk in the park for him.

The filmmaker, whose upcoming Netflix movie recently released a trailer, has surprised his fans yet again. In a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), Netflix released a teaser of Life on Our Planet, an upcoming docuseries that is produced by the three-time Oscar winner, Steven Spielberg.
The post immediately caught the attention of the rest of the users, with all of them expressing their love for The Jurassic Park director and the excitement that the teaser had made them feel. Just like its name, the docuseries will focus on life on the planet Earth and how much has evolved over time. Spanning back to four billion years ago, it will cover the rise, survival, and extinction of all the different species that walked the earth.
Unlike most docuseries in recent history, this one will not be narrated by Sir David Attenborough. But instead, Netflix had another surprise in store for the fans at the end of the teaser. Some might even consider it to be the end of an era, and the dawn of a new one.
“God” describes his creation
Netflix has done it again. They gave their audience exactly what they had spent years waiting for. At the end of the teaser, viewers heard Oscar winner Morgan Freeman say, “This is the story of life on our planet.” Many fans instantly recognized the actor’s voice and took to the comments to express their joy.

While it might be a little ironic for the actor who has played the role of God in so many of his films to be narrating this, most people felt it was the perfect fit, considering the actor’s deep voice. And apparently, the rest of the team that worked on the 8-part series agreed too.
