The historical drama showcased the journey of the beginning of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign while ending with Princess Diana. Amidst the wait for the season finale to drop, the Australian actress talked about the behind-the-scenes difficulties. Referring to the paparazzi chase after Princess Diana during her final days, Debicki admitted, “It was difficult to recreate,” in an internal interview with Netflix as reported by Variety.
Having acted in the course of a couple of seasons, Elizabeth Debicki in the interview termed Princess Diana’s helpless paparazzi chase as “animalistic”. “There’s nowhere you can go…” she continued, while speaking to the host, weighing how unbearable this much has been for the one who actually bore it. But despite the perpetual chase, Princess Diana lived in the turbulent world for 16 years, from 1981 to 1997.
Talking about filming the last 24 hours of the Princess, Debicki admitted them to be demanding. However, she expressed her excitement about the viewers’ reviews as well. Known for handling the subject delicately, The Crown season 6 tried to stay as tactfully authentic as it could. The result was all the actors’ immense emotional response post filming this extremely difficult scene.
The cast members remained overwhelmed
Khalid Abdalla (Fayed) and Jonathan Pryce (Prince Philip) showed a strong emotional response to Princess Diana’s life story. Acknowledging the sensitivity of the incident, Abdalla said he explored the geographical territory of the scene very closely to embody the accuracy. Although the show will not portray the details of the accident, merely filming a piece of it felt like an enormous responsibility to Abdalla.

When Christian Schwochow showed the show’s clip of Diana’s death to the cast, Pryce admitted he “could not stop crying.” In fact, the cameraman who shot the scene alongside the director also could not resist tears falling down their cheeks. The Crown’s team response suggested an emotional and captivating season 6 awaits viewers, with the Prince of Wales’ sons assuming greater responsibilities.
