It has been almost 3 decades since Ryan Reynolds is not only fairing his career as an actor but is also expanding his business empire that only an exponential graph can perhaps explain. The virtue of his wit not just as an actor, and a performer, but also as himself is always on full display, both during his public appearances and cracking business deals. Following his successful taking over of the Welsh football team, Wrexham AFC., and metaphorically giving them a new life, reports suggest that the Canadian actor is now eyeing a new startup.

The province’s minister of tourism, culture, and sport recently revealed that an investment in avante-garde developments in Markham, Ontario, highlights confidence in building a film studio. And the major investor is Canada’s very own A-list star, Ryan Reynolds. Neil Lumsden notably described the project at Question Period as per CP 24 as a “massive production studio being built, 1.2 million square feet.” The minister further detailed their return from the film industry in 2022, stating, “it is over $3 billion back into the economy. That’s 46,000 jobs.”

Furthermore, while we do not know much about the new Ont studio, media suggest that Canadian development firm Watford Group is behind raising capital for the same. Notably, Reynolds first teased the project in an interview with Variety almost a month ago. He explicitly shared his enthusiasm to expand his company, Maximum Efforts’ creative capabilities, and “bring production work to Ontario.”

Notably, this is not the first time the Deadpool mercenary has done something for Ontario.

Apart from this brand-new project, The Vancouver-born star often provides funds for Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children. Furthermore, back in February, the Adam Project star also surprised Seneca college’s students by visiting the campus and even participating in a journalism classroom. He did a tour of the labs, studios, and classrooms of its faculty of communication.

Furthermore, with over 400 movies filmed in that region of Canada expanding its scope in film production, this is not a bad idea after all. Both the revenue generation and employment in turn will certainly be of tremendous benefit both for the government and citizens.
