2022 has been a crazy year for all Henry Cavill fans. Over the past few months, the British actor shocked the world with a number of things. Firstly, the much-awaited sequel of Enola Holmes featuring Henry Cavill and Millie Bobby Brown made its way to our screens. The actor announced his departure from Netflix’s sci-fi series. While all this happened recently, one thing that has been in the talks for a long time is Henry Cavill’s return as Superman. And the Man of Steel star finally made his comeback with a cameo scene in Black Adam.

While fans celebrate the Mission Impossible: Fallout actor’s return to the DC Extended Universe, Cavill’s comeback also opens up a lot of future possibilities for the franchise. There are a plethora of upcoming DC projects that the Enola Holmes actor can be a part of. Apart from the guest appearances, another Superman film is also a possibility. The Flash director to be the frontrunner of a new Superman film with Henry Cavill?

DC has a long list of upcoming projects that might be making their way to our screens in the next few years. While there is not much update, there is a speculation that the Warner Bros is eyeing few directors for a few future projects such as The Flash 2 and or Justice League 2. However, as per El Calavero on Twitter, Andy Muschietti might be the frontrunner of a new Superman film. The user wrote, “Andy Muschietti is on the list of possible directors to direct Man of Steel 2.“

Recently, news of Andy taking over the script of Justice League 2 are also making the rounds. Furthermore, the Mama fame is no stranger to directing popular films. Previously, Muschietti was the frontrunner of two IT films for Warner Bros. And rumors of the Top Gun director directing the sequel of The Man of Steel were floating around as well. As per reports, the Mission Impossible: Fallout director Christopher McQuarrie is another director Warner Bros has an eye on for an upcoming DC project. However, there is no confirmation for the same.
