Since last year it seems like any discussion involving Ryan Gosling has been around Greta Gerwig’s highly anticipated Barbie movie. Pictures of him wearing bedazzled and neon-colored outfits with washboard abs on display while shooting the movie went viral. And ever since then, it is as if fans instantly get a vision of him rocking electric pink color shorts as soon as they hear his name. That is, until James Gunn and Peter Safran took the cover off DC’s future.

Gunn and Saffran, who had been under tremendous scrutiny, passed the test with flying colors as they revealed all the exciting projects that fans can look forward to. While some such as Superman: Legacy were expected, others like The Authority, The Brave and the Bold, and most importantly, Booster Gold, came out of the blue. Gunn and Saffran have decided on a live-action HBO max series for Booster Gold. And fans know just the actor who would add stars to this fan-favorite character and it is none other than Ryan Gosling. A fanart even imagined the likes of Gosling dressed up in the superhero’s signature yellow and blue armor.

Gunn and Safran have announced the shows and movies that are headed toward the screen. However, the entities behind and in the project are still under the covers. “We look forward to collaborating with the most talented writers, directors, and actors in the world to create an integrated, multilayered universe that still allows for the individual expression of the artists involved,” Gunn and Saffran said in their announcement video.

And nothing screams “most talented” like Ryan Gosling. Furthermore, given that Booster Gold is a fan-favorite superhero, a fan-favorite casting is also a must. And looking at Clements.ink’s fanart on Instagram, it is clear who fans want.

Owing to inconsistencies with the projects, a lot of actors have strayed away from the superhero universe. And it seems like both the Ryans, Gosling and Reynolds, think alike in this case.

Once upon a time, when Gosling was asked about working with DC, the actor did not look too keen. However, with new and creative minds in place, and also the well-crafted fanart, he may have a change of heart.
