Peaky Blinders has finally come to an end after season 6. The series ended with the most authentic Shelby-style twists that fans are so used to. The majority of the internet believes that the finale was flawless, from the acting to the execution. However, others are quick to find out loopholes in the series finale that don’t quite add up. Here are some of the most conspicuous ones:

Johnny and the bombs

The biggest twist that had fans of the Netflix series on the edge of their seats is that of Tommy vs Michael. What seemed like a zealous race with one or the other seeming to emerge victorious at different points in time ended with Michael’s death. This couldn’t have been possible had Johnny Dogs not removed the bomb from Tommy’s car.

While it is possible that Tommy was aware of this and asked Johnny to take care of the same. However, we do not see it in the series. This leaves fans to wonder exactly how Johnny Dogs knew what to do and when.

What was the point of Tommy’s fake diagnosis?

Daenerys Targaryen, the most pivotal character of Game of Thrones, met an end that fans didn’t see coming. It took them by surprise in a way they didn’t quite like.

Similarly yet quite different, all seasons of Peaky Blinders seemed to be building up to Tommy Shelby’s death. Add to this all the talk surrounding how he claims he wouldn’t stop until he meets a man he “cannot defeat”. With the announcement of a life-threatening disease, fans expected the iconic hero to meet an ending he deserved. All those who were looking forward to bidding a goodbye as archetypal as the protagonist of the show himself were disappointed immensely.

The creators added an actor as amazing as Stephen Graham to the last season of the show. Considering this, fans expected him to have a significant influence on the plot. All this did was show fans how Tommy has seemingly “changed” in the most cliché manner. Most of the fans agree that Graham’s acting prowess and the potential for his character could’ve been put to much better use.

All of this again traces back to Tommy Shelby not dying. If the protagonist was to live through the conflict, then, the “lost son” trope just seems like lazy writing to thicken the plot.

The line between the spiritual and real world

One of the most important things that drew fans to Peaky Blinders was the realism in the show. While the Shelby clan comes from gypsies deep-rooted in spiritualism, we don’t see that affecting the plot a lot with the exception of Polly. Additionally, even Polly’s “abilities” were not exaggerated quite as much until the last season. Yet again, this seems like lazy writing to cover up plot holes or to thicken the plot, unlike what fans saw in the initial seasons of the show.

While there might be more of these “shortcomings” or explanations than the ones we’ve mentioned, later on, these are the aspects of Peaky Blinders season 6 that seem to take away some of the essences of the show.
