Earlier this year, it was announced that streaming giant Netflix was going to make a documentary based on the life and achievements of William Felton Russell. Bill, who earned immense fame while playing for Boston Celtics from 1956 to 1969, passed away today. In a statement released by his family today, it was announced that the 11-time NBA champion passed away “peacefully” with his family beside him.
The fans are deeply saddened by the passing of the Hall of Famer. But the Netflix documentary shall give us one final glimpse into the extraordinary life of the star. Since the documentary is still in development, it will be released posthumously. However, a release date is yet to be revealed by Netflix.
