Stranger Things season 4 is coming soon. But just as things could not get more “stranger,” Netflix has uploaded a mysterious countdown live stream on youtube. An old clock seems to count down the time, but what is the mysterious countdown for, and where have we seen the clock before. Let us try to find out.
Stranger Things season 4 countdown begins
The live stream, cryptically captioned “IT’S ALMOST TIME,” was posted to the official Stranger Things YouTube page and shows the grandfather clock found in the Creel home transported to an average city street. Meanwhile, a 24-hour countdown is displayed on the clock. Take a look at the video here.

Netflix has verified that the countdown video is for the debut of the Stranger Things season 4 trailer tomorrow. They have also changed the title of the live stream to reflect this. The grandfather clock at the focus of the webcast was originally seen in last year’s “Creel House” teaser video.
Currently, 1,165 people are watching the live feed. But the numbers are only growing. And the timer is at 07:17 hours. So the trailer should arrive at 7 AM PST and 10 AM EST.
Following a flashback that shows the Creel family moving in, Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Steve (Joe Keery), Max (Sadie Sink), Robin (Maya Hawke), Nancy (Natalie Dyer), and Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) break into the abandoned house in search of clues related to some supernatural mystery that is expected to be a season-long story arc.

Netflix has a habit of teasing fans
Stranger Things has intrigued viewers in the past with its inventive promotional strategy. Netflix erected a scary billboard with an upside-down message earlier this year, and shortly after, a release date for season 4 was revealed. This time, the Creel clock is most likely ticking down to the release of a new season 4 trailer. For now, after the countdown expires, viewers can get a brand new peek at season 4.
