The reason behind fans’ excitement stems from the fact that it is one of the best-selling manga series of all time. While earlier fans did not have much faith in Netflix’s credibility to honor the manga’s essence in its adaptations, Steven Maeda and Matt Owens changed the perception of everyone.

Fan react to Netflix’s Yu Yu Hakusho premiere’s revealed date
Ever since Netflix dropped the premiere date of its upcoming manga live adaptation, Yu Yu Hakusho, the internet saw division among fans. While some were excited to witness the most-loved manga come to life on screen, others still had their own reservations about Netflix’s ability to adapt mangas. Nevertheless, the teaser did surely ignite some chatter online and garnered an engagement of almost five hundred thousand viewers in just a few hours.
Anime enthusiasts took to the comments to express their admiration towards the creator of the manga Togashi. They were happy to see this masterpiece making waves even after three decades of its release.
However, there were also some fans who straight away demanded to cancel the live-action adaptation. This sentiment probably stems from the long string of unsuccessful manga adaptations by the OTT giant before One Piece.
