Getting royal names correct can be a bit of a task, especially in the UK Monarchy. The nomenclature followed within the royal households abide by various rules and is often repeated with their ancestral names and titles. In some cases, what we know about the Prince and Princesses of the family is not exactly accurate information about the same. Such is the scenario with Prince Harry, the duke.

The royals at the House of Windsor usually settle on a common name to keep confusion at bay. For instance, to simplify it for their subjects and the whole world, the Duke of Sussex is called Prince Harry of the United Kingdom. However, there is much more than what meets the eye.

Back in the November of 2017, the youngest of King Charles, Prince Harry shook the internet as he announced his engagement to his beautiful fiancee, the former Suits Actress from California. Meanwhile, while half of the internet was gushing about the upcoming royal engagement, the other half was getting blown away by the fact that Prince Harry’s name is not even Harry in the first place.
The royal press release that confirmed the engagement between the military prince and the former American actress used the official names of the couple. Prince Harry’s actual name back then was Prince Henry of Wales or Henry Charles Albert David to be more precise. Nonetheless, the title of Wales was soon revoked when the Duke decided to give up on his UK Sovereigns executing the infamous Megxit.

It is also to note that even the Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle was not officially called Meghan. She was born with the name, Rachel Meghan Markle. However, while pursuing acting as her profession, she decided to work with her middle name, Meghan Markle giving Rachel a backseat.

Speaking of titles, there is currently ongoing chaos about the Sussexes’ children keeping their royal titles from the House of Windsor. Although they are not called the Prince and Princess as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle called it quits with the family, there are rampant speculations about the California-based estranged royal kids getting to inherit the designations.
