Is My Best Friend Anne Frank a true story?
My Best Friend Anne Frank is the story of a genuine friendship between Anne Frank and Hannah Goslar, who were friends from kindergarten. In order to save Anne Frank’s life, Hannah Goslar put her life in danger. In conversation with the New York Post, the screenwriter Paul Ruven claims, “We were immediately moved by Hannah’s story. What amazed us the most during our research is the strength and courage of these young girls in wartime, especially Hannah’s effort to save her best friend from death.”
Goslar was liberated at the age of 16. After that, she became a nurse and married a doctor. She is 93 years old and still mourns for her best friend. She expresses to Scholastic, “People should know about the cruelty — it was unnecessary. It’s important to understand what happened, so it doesn’t happen again… I always say that the only thing Anne Frank did was that she was born Jewish, and for that, she had to die. She could’ve given a lot to mankind.”
My Best Friend Anne Frank release date
