Kanye West once had a concept design for a futuristic car. While the thought may have been far-fetched, the entertainer has certainly proved his capabilities to do unique unexpected things before. He not only aced in singing and producing, but also created an empire with the Adidas collaboration. To top it, he opened his own Donda school, naming it after his mother.

Designing a car is way different from designing shoes. It takes a much larger planning, production, and financial capacity. It made people wonder how exactly was the ambitious singer planning to make it a reality. Here is a look into his concept car, and what happened to it.

What was the concept car of Kanye West all about?

With time, celebrities are expanding their skills and sources of income. But Kanye West’s own ambitious self took a rather high aim when announcing the design of his concept car. According to Complex, Ye had appointed expert sneaker designer Steven Smith to design the car. He was appointed as the head of design for the entertainer’s Donda company. After finding success in their partnerships for sneakers, the two decided to expand their horizons for different objects.

West took pride in announcing that the cars will be created in America. The foam vehicle’s photo was dropped by the company last year. It showcased the car in shades of grey. It certainly had a unique look, with an all-grey color and dark tints. Along with the photo came a tagline that announced the car’s concept and American manufacturing. However, no major updates came after that. Moreover, Ye’s loss of wealth after his Adidas split means this plan has been put on hold.

Even if he had continued, the one question to wonder was, how was he planning to set up such a massive production?

The Tesla owner and the ‘Donda’ singer backed each other for a while. Despite their occasional issues, they both share similar opinions on certain things and are known to be ambitious. Considering that Elon Musk’s successful car production company could have made space to make Ye’s concept a reality. Although the rapper stopped talking about the plan long ago, the possibility of it happening is never out of the question.
